Community Update | October 2022
DARA has been busy and we cover some of the latest developments in this newsletter
Binance Blockchain Week
In a video posted late September we described how DARA made contact with Binance officials in Paris during Binance BlockchainWeek.
We are in a private Telegram group with members of their European staff and we’re providing them with regular updates in the hope of securing the incubator they suggested might interest us. Naturally, we’ll update the community with any future news regarding Binance.
Also in Paris all the many other teams and individuals we met, like PARISIQ, Armin and ITEZ, Dimitri and WhitStarCapital, and Trust Wallet, some of whom we are sure to meet again, and perhaps even partner.
The main takeaway from Paris was the warm reception we received. DARA is fresh and original with many commenters voicing the opinion “how has nobody made this before?”
New Website
DARA launched a new website this week. There is a good deal more information to be added, but we are satisfied it provides a good starting point for newcomers to DARA.
The site features a getting started guide, use cases and comments on DARA from some high profile people, including (much to our surprise) the CEO of the World Economic Forum.

DARA Dashboard 1.7.9
On September 26th we released DARA Dashboard 1.7.9 which contained support for mobile browsers, improved search, UI fixes and a lot of backend coding to pave the way for more features.
DARA File Uploads
Early this month DARA Dashboard v1.7.9.1 brought with it our first implementation of direct file uploads.
PDF, TXT, JPG, PNG and GIF image files are now enabled for all DARA users. More filetypes will be supported in future releases, with larger video files only available to premium users in the upcoming DARA Tier System.
DARA User Profiles
DARA Dashboard v1.7.9.2 (just released) now incorporates user profiles. Setup a profile, add a PFP and surface whatever your save to DARA by sharing a custom link to your profile.
Names are unique so register your account today and bind your DARA Digital ID (starting 0x) to a profile.
You can expect a rapid series of updates to the look and feel of the user profile in the coming days.
Project Gutenberg
Our initiative to make an immutable archive of the entire Project Gutenberg collection of over 65,000 ebooks is nearing completion. The backend is done and we expect the Immutable Gutenberg to be published end of month.
All ebooks will be available for download over IPFS and BitTorrent, and will accompanied by a complete database of metadata with links on the Peercoin ledger.
When published the collection will be available on gutenberg.theimmutable.net and mirrored on gutenberg.projectdara.org

Sifter.News
In other news, we remain busy networking, connecting and developing. Most recently we connected the Sifter and in turn introduced them to Larry Sanger and the Knowledge Standards Foundation. John and Fintan of Sifter joined the KSF’s weekly conference call at which we were also present (as we usually are for weekly meetings).
We believe that by allying ourselves, in one way or another, with other groups and projects who share our interests, we are all more likely to arrive at our collectively shared goals.

Thanks to our community and we look forward to posting our next update soon.
